O for Oh Boy!
Once again I am blogging my way from A to Z as part of the 2015 April A to Z Challenge! Come blog through the alphabet with me!
The fourth graders in our town do one of my favorite projects. They spend about a month researching and writing reports about a famous person. Then they make a statue of the person using a 2 liter bottle and styrofoam head. Some of the ideas the kids have to make their statues look life-like are really creative.
This year Number 3 chose Walt Disney as his person. He was so excited about making the bottle person. In fact, it consumed several of the kids and we worked on the project together. Number 4 donated buttons from her button collection and Number 5 gave one of his many clip on toys.
Number 3 brought it into school and they were on display at the Souletto fine arts fair. Last week, Number 3 brought it home and proudly put it on display in his room.
But in the middle of the night, he came running and screaming into our room. “I can’t take the bottle person. It’s creepy. You need to destroy it!”
Oh boy. SMH.
