Misappropriation of Resources
Kids are creative. Give them a little bit of time and they will find new uses for just about every item in the house. Just don’t plan on that item ever being the same again!
Here are some of our most memorable:
Catapult ceiling fan. Turn the fan on and throw a ball up at it. The fun is seeing which direction the ball will come down in.
Nunchuck silverware. One time my kids taped groups of silverware together by their long ends and were using them as nunchucks.
Potato peeler whittling knife. Number 1 used my potato peeler to carve intricate details into his home-made wood sword.
Tape. My kids use tape for everything. Last year they “taped” Number 5 into his bed while he was sleeping as an April Fools’ Day joke.
Closet Tardis. For a while I wondered why the light kept burning out in Number 4’s closet. Then I saw the kids playing Dr. Who. Her closet was the Tardis and they kept turning her light on and off to simulate travel.
Melon murder. If I leave a melon on the counter too long, someone will draw a face on it. Then someone will stick a knife in it and leave it there.
The boogie board luge run. Ride the boogie board down the steps? Sure, what could go wrong? How about breaking Number 4’s leg!
Creative geniuses or evil villains? I guess only time will tell.
