Friday Fun – Meet Terry and Wings
Last Saturday we went to the poultry show in Springfield (better known as the Northeastern Poultry Congress).
Just. To. Look.
I mean, it’s not like we have a beautiful empty coop waiting at home.
Or eager, anxious children waiting for their first chicken.
Or that in addition to the show chickens, there was a room full of people eager to sell us some fowl.
Nope, we were there just to look.
And look we did. There were so many different kinds of chickens, some were quite beautiful while others were downright cute (which was hard for this chicken-fearing person to admit). Unfortunately I didn’t take any pictures, so you will just have to believe me. Or take a look at hencam.com – she did a wonderful job highlighting the stars of the show.
After we looked we bought 2 Rhode Island Red chickens.
Come on, did you really believe that we could only look?
They are named Terry (short for Teriyaki) and Wings.
When we were driving into the chicken show, we noticed that the Springfield Motorcycle Show was also at the Exposition Center. “Hey look,” I said to Spouse, “it’s bikers and chicks! How appropriate!” He didn’t get it until we were leaving. Jeesh.
So in memory of the day, we took our own picture of a chick on a hog, ok not really, it’s a chick on a goat. But that’s how we roll.
