Friday Fun – Kidding Around
We have some new critters at our place. They are helping to fulfill my goat need. Last Saturday we bought two Dwarf Nigerian goats. One is a 2 month old doe, and the other is a 2 month old whether (fixed male).
Why Dwarf Nigerians?
Dwarf Nigerian goats are extremely personable, making them great pets and companions. They are small and easier to house and feed. If you are into goat’s milk, they can produce a heck of a lot of milk for their small size, and it is the sweetest, richest milk of all the dairy breeds. This is due to the high content of butterfat; 6-10%. They also breed any time during the year rather than coming into heat only a few times per year.
I thought these goats might make perfect pets for the kids.
And I don’t think I was wrong! These are the cuddliest goats I have ever seen. They brown and white one is named Junebug, and she will fall asleep in your lap. The whether, Nor’easter is a bit more rambunctious and doesn’t like to sit still for long, but he can cuddle as well.
Thank you Willow Farm in North Brookfield!
